Activating Senescent Fibroblasts with Neodermyl® - Skin Management System by Dr. Strauss

Fibroblasts are responsible for producing both collagen and elastin fibres in the dermis. However as we age fibroblasts become senescent, causing their metabolic capability to decrease. This has a negative effect on the integrity and maintenance of the collagen network, which then leads to wrinkle development.

Neodermyl® contains the essentials to help boost the metabolic activity of fibroblasts. First, the cells require an energy source to increase collagen and elastin production, which is provided by the bio-renewable methyl-glucoside-6-phosphate (MG6P), derived from glucose.

In order for collagen and elastin proteins to be produced, the essential amino acids lysine and proline are required, therefore both have also been included in Neodermyl®.

Last but very important, the enzyme lysyl oxidase is responsible to produce mature and functional collagen and elastin. Because this enzyme is dependent on copper availability in order to function, Neodermyl® also includes copper to help activate the production of these fibres.

By incorporating these essentials, Neodermyl® produces results seen in 2 weeks! Wrinkle depth is reduced up to 15%, skin is firmer, denser, and more elastic.
