Breakthrough Peptides in Matrixyl 3000™ - Skin Management System by Dr. Strauss

Peptides have received a lot of fame in the cosmetic industry but when it comes to understanding how they work, things aren’t always clear. Having been a popular ingredient in anti-aging skin care products for some time now, why have we chosen Matrixyl 3000™ and how does it work?

Matrikines are extracellular derived peptides which regulate the activity of surrounding cells (most importantly in our case the fibroblasts). Normally, when proteins like collagen or elastin break down in the extracellular matrix, the portions of the broken protein (the matrikines) act as a signal to repair the damage and activate the production of new extracellular matrix proteins. The peptides Pal-GHK and Pal-GQPR in Matrixyl 3000™ mimic this signal of extracellular damage, and thus production of new molecules like collagen and elastin is activated.

With a repaired extracellular matrix caused by the increased production of collagen and elastin, the skin will appear firmer, and wrinkles will be less visible.
